i imported os, then typed" print name"

it returned "nt", this seemed odd to me because im using winxp home sp2

why is it saying im usint "nt"

#!/usr/bin/python

from os import *

print name

I dont have a real answer for you, as I am a python noob myself...
But, I get the same results when on my machine and I am running XP SP2.
I read somewhere about the os.sys.getwindowsversion() function.
I haven't tried it yet so I dunno anything about it.

Edit- I poked around on google for a while and came back mostly empty handed.
I did however, find this ....
