I cannot execute programs b/c the path isn't correct, How can I fix this?

I have set my directory as instructed however, written the example program as directed, however when I attempt to access my directory in the command prompt it tells me that the path cannot be found. I am very ignorant when it comes to setting path's correctly so any help you can offer would be greatly appreicated.
